Newpark to open 'contemporary bowling' alley in Park City

Territory Incorporated CEO Terri Sturm announced last Tuesday the addition of Empire Bowl, an "upscale" bowling center to the retail development at Newpark Town Center at Kimball Junction, a press release states. Empire Bowl is slated to open its 21,750-square-foot, $6.5 million facility in the second quarter of 2009.

Empire Bowl will be a modern bowling center, following a national trend of high-end bowling facilities referred to as "boutique bowling." In addition to its 16 bowling lanes, Empire Bowl will offer billiard tables and a gaming arcade. Empire Bowl will also feature numerous large high definition plasma screens and a full-service restaurant and sports bar.

Available suites range from 1,000 to 20,000 square feet. The retail development will be anchored by a 30,000-square-foot Best Buy.

Located at Kimball Junction off I-80, Newpark Town Center is a joint venture between Territory Incorporated and Newpark Corporation. The retail core will break ground in the first quarter of 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2009.

High West's Rendezvous Rye will be the exclusive whiskey served during ChefDance's cocktail hour and at dinners on Historic Main Street.

High West Distillery crafts boutique spirits with great taste, small batches and the owner's personal touch, a press release states. Located in historic Old Town Park City, High West is renovating a 100 year-old livery stable as a working distillery and saloon. The building sits at the base of Park City's Town Lift.

Rendezvous Rye is crafted from two exotic straight rye whiskies: a six-year-old 95 percent rye and a rare 18-year-old 80 percent rye. A higher proportion of unmalted rye gives Rendezvous a unique flavor profile with notes of spicy cinnamon, caramel, honey, mint and vanilla.

Rendezvous Rye whiskey is now available at Utah State Liquor Stores. High West will soon introduce Vodka 7000', named for the elevation of High West's home.

Now in its fifth year, ChefDance features renowned chefs from around the country who prepare fine dinners for 250 VIP guests each night. Tables are bought for $10,000 each, and every night is sponsored by a different corporate entity. This year's roster of chefs are from award-winning restaurants include Le Cirque (New York City), STK (New York City), One Sunset (Hollywood, CA), Gilt (New York City), One Little West 12th (New York City), and Japonais (New York City, Chicago, Las Vegas).
