Author Ryan Smithson to Speak at Park City High School
Ryan Smithson, author of "Ghosts of War: The True Story of a 19-Year-Old GI" and Park City High School resident author, will speak in the school's lecture hall, 1750 Kearns Blvd., on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
The Shining Stars School Back to School Night The Shining Stars School, 4501 N. Highway 224, will be having a Back To School Night for parents of pre-schoolers and kindergartners on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. The school still has some openings left in the kindergarten program. Recycle Utah Uncorked
Recycle Utah, 1951 Woodbine Way, will present an outdoor concert featuring singer and songwriter Bryon Friedman on Friday, Sept. 7, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The event will include local food from Gateway Grille, local beer from Shades of Pale and spirits from Top Shelf. First Friday Artist Opening at Starving Artist Exchange
The Starving Artist Exchange, 283 N Main St. in Kamas, will present its First Friday artist opening featuring ceramics from co-owner Katie Stellpflug on Friday, Sept. 7, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Stellpflug will feature cups, vases, plates & bowls all available for custom orders. PC Teen End of Summer Splash
Park City and Summit County teens can celebrate the end of summer with a pool party and barbecue at Silver Mountain Sports Club, 2080 Gold Dust Lane, on Saturday, Sept. 8, beginning at 5 p.m. After the sun sets, PC Teen will present a screening of "Sandlot" on the big screen under the stars. Entry fee is $5 if you text "rangers" to 25827, otherwise admission is $7. Hot dogs, burgers, snacks and drinks will be available for $1 a piece.
