A member of the band Profane Sass failed to appear for a court date in Third District Court Monday morning, prompting a judge to issue a warrant for his arrest.

Jeremy Sullivan, who is 33 years old and has a listed address in Portland, Ore., faces a class A misdemeanor charge of interfering with a police officer making a lawful arrest. He is one of two Profane Sass musicians arrested on July 18 on Main Street after a dispute between the band and City Hall officials about licensing. Charging documents claim the band was operating without the proper license.

Judge Todd Shaughnessy issued a $15,000 warrant for Sullivan's arrest after Summit County Attorney David Brickey made the request.

Brickey said in an interview afterward Sullivan's information will be listed in a national law enforcement database. If he is arrested somewhere else, the warrant issued on Monday will appear when the police enter him into the database. Brickey said he was not surprised Sullivan did not appear.

"The lifestyle would be conducive to traveling by train. It's pretty difficult to schedule one to come by our courthouse," Brickey said.

Class A misdemeanors are punishable by one year in jail and a $2,500 fine upon conviction.

A charging document filed against Sullivan claims he was with the other musicians on the 500 block of Main Street when a confrontation between the band and the police unfolded. Sullivan started to circle behind an officer and yelled a profanity directed at the police, the prosecutors claim. Sullivan and a police officer wrestled before the officer arrested him, according to the charging document. The court filing indicated the officer suffered scrapes on a forearm and a finger.
