South Summit Board Meeting
The South Summit Board of Education is scheduled to meet at 5:45 p.m. Sept. 13 at the South Summit School District Office Boardroom located at 375 East 300 South in Kamas. Scheduled agenda items for the upcoming meeting include a discussion with architects regarding future district buildings, an increased enrollment discussion and board goals. Volunteers needed for "Stuff the Bus"
United Way of Salt Lake is searching for volunteers to help stuff backpacks with school supplies for its annual "Stuff the Bus" campaign, which will benefit more than 5,000 children in Davis, Tooele, Salt Lake and Summit counties. "Stuff the Bus" is the final service project of the summer-long campaign to collect donated school supplies for low-income families and students. Volunteers will stuff each backpack with pens, pencils, glue, paper, notebooks, rulers and crayons, package stuffed backpacks into boxes and sort and count bags for each school and load backpacks onto school buses for delivery to Neighborhood Centers on Thusday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Gateway Mall located at 18 N. Rio Grande St. in Salt Lake City, outside the Grand Hall (on the second level, between Thaifoon and Urban Outfitters). No registration necessary. Schedule changes due
Treasure Mountain Junior High School set the deadline for student schedule changes for Friday, Sept. 3 before school offices close. This will be the last day for students to request a schedule change for Quarter 1. Ecker Hill Middle School will only accept necessary changes to scheduling on a case-by-case basis.
