The Park City Police Department last week responded to at least two traffic accidents involving drivers running into deer.

At least one of the deer needed to be destroyed.

On Sunday, Sept. 16, a driver reportedly hit a deer sometime before 6:26 a.m. on S.R. 248 just east of Prospector. Public police logs did not provide details, including whether the animal survived.

On Friday, Sept. 14 at 8:57 p.m., meanwhile, a driver hit a deer somewhere along Meadows Drive. The animal survived the accident but was injured and needed to be destroyed, the police said.

The police last week also reported a case involving a porcupine that was likely hit and killed by a driver. On Tuesday, Sept. 11, the police indicated the carcass needed to be removed from the road on S.R. 248 close to Quinn's Junction. The report was logged at 3:35 a.m.
