To celebrate, as it has in the past, the event will be transformed into SillyFest.
That means instead of shutting down at 6 p.m., the hours will extend to 8 p.m. and there will be more music and other performances throughout the day, said Ryan Cray, the market's community media relations officer.
"We have some special performances scheduled," Cray said during an interview with The Park Record.
Main Stage entertainment will feature The Beatles tribute band Revolver at 10 a.m., roots and acoustic band Buster Blue at 2 p.m. and Americana-music ramblers the Fruition String Band at 6 p.m. The Farmer's Market stage will feature Rich Wagstaff at 10 a.m. and the Red Desert Ramblers at 1 p.m.
"In addition to the main stage and farmer's market stage performances, Samba Fogo will also perform throughout the day," Cray said. "They teach Afro-Brazilian dance and are a lot of fun. We're looking forward to partying until 8 o'clock."
The day will kick off at 10 a.m. with a 45-minute yoga session at the Town Bridge.
"We're working with the city to make sure we can do that," Cray said.
This has been a successful year for the Park Silly Sunday Market, Cray said.
"It's been an amazing season and we've had great sponsors, wonderful vendors and some awesome musicians have come in this year," she said. "Our numbers are up and everyone has had a great time.
Although the Silly Market, which was co-founded by Kimberly Kuhn, is closing for the year, Cray and the staff are already planning the Silly Holiday Bizarre Bazaar that will be held in the Park City High School gymnasium on Dec. 2.
"We're still planning to partner with the high school students, so different teams and clubs will be able to do their own fundraisers during the bazaar and the high school's musicians will be able to perform," she said. "Vendors can apply now on our website, www.parksillysundaymarket.org ."
The Park Silly Sunday Market will end its season on Sunday, Sept. 23, with the annual SillyFest from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. The market will feature food, crafts, soaps and other locally produced items. The festival will also include yoga, jugglers, ribbon aerialists, belly dancers, fire spinners, drummers, stilt walkers and hula hoopers. Admission is free.
