"Many of the non-profits and associated organizations in town look for funding sources from clubs like us," said Michael Luers, Park City Sunrise Rotary Public Relations Chair. "And we like to believe it provides a good service to their organizations and to the rest of the community."
The Rotary Club uses fundraisers throughout the year to raise money for the grants, such as the July Fourth picnic where they cook lunch at City Park.
The group is also involved with several community projects, such as Habitat for Humanity, the Glenwood Cemetery clean-ups and the International Pedigree Sled Dog Race. They also purchase and distribute dictionaries for all Morgan and Summit County third-grade students.
Rotary is a worldwide community-based club that provides humanitarian service, supports education and job training and promotes peace.
"We look forward to working with our local organization and we're very pleased we can return some of our hard work in the way of dollars back to the community," Luers said.
