Basin Recreation UEA Break Camp
Basin Recreation will host a UEA Beak Camp at Ecker Hill Middle School, 2465 Kilby Road, on Thursday, Oct. 18, and Friday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Children can enjoy a fun-filled break from school by hopping into the school's pool. Dolly's Bookstore, 510 Main St., will welcome "Book of Mormon Girl" author Joanna Brooks on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. for a book signing. In 1993, when the Church excommunicated a group of feminists for speaking out about a controversy in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Brooks, who was raised in the church, found herself searching for a way to live by the leadings of her heart and the faith she loved.
