Chamber hosts annual Fall Forum

The Park City Chamber of Commerce/Convention & Visitors Bureau will host its annual Tourism Industry Fall Forum on Thursday, Nov. 1, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Chateaux at Deer Valley located on 7815 Royal Street East. The Tourism Industry Fall Forum focuses on the upcoming winter season and trends that will affect the ski industry in the months and years ahead, according to a press release from the organization. This year's keynote speaker will be Daniel Levine, a leading consumer trends expert. Levine is the executive director of the New York City-based The Avant-Guide Institute, and has been called the "Ultimate Guru of Cool" by CNN. Other featured speakers are senior executives from the three Park City ski/snowboard resorts and Leigh von der Esch, Managing Director for the Utah Office of Tourism, the press release continued. They will be providing updates for, and thoughts about the upcoming 2012-2013 winter season followed by a question-and-answer session. Lunch is included as part of the event and registration costs $30 if received by Oct. 31. Sky Lodge hires new leadership

The Sky Lodge, a boutique hotel on Main Street, added several new individuals to the management team. The property owned by Ken Abdalla is slated for significant upgrades while a new food and beverage concept is conceived, all in an effort to update the ski-in/ski-out lodge, according to a press release from the hotel. Following nine years as Director of Hospitality for Park City-based restaurant group Bill White Enterprises, Lawrence Acedo joins The Sky Lodge as Director of Food and Beverage, overseeing Easy Street Brasserie, Bar Boheme, Sky Blue and banquets, the release continued. Executive Chef Kevin Dalebout comes to The Sky Lodge from Deer Valley Resort's Mariposa restaurant, consistently ranked Utah's number one restaurant by Zagat Restaurant Guide. A Park City resident since 2001, Hilary Reiter is The Sky Lodge's Director of Marketing & Public Relations. Reiter previously worked in public relations capacities for the Park City Chamber & Visitors Bureau, Ski Utah and the Sundance Film Festival, according to the press release. Another longtime Park City resident and Director of Rooms David Olson brings 22 years of restaurant and hotel experience to The Sky Lodge, the release continued. Human Resource Manager Melissa Renschler is a native of South Africa who spent several years in Vail, Colorado as Director of Human Resources for the Club at Cordillera, a private, full-service golf resort community.

Utah Tourism Office releases 2013 calendar

The 2013 edition of the Utah Life Elevated® Scenic Calendar, produced by the Utah Office of Tourism, is now on sale. The calendar has been released for 41 years, showcasing many of Utah's iconic destinations, outdoor activities and events through photography and graphic design, according to a press release from the office. The 2013 Utah Scenic Calendar may be purchased online at www.uotstore.com. Individual calendars are $10 each, plus tax and shipping.
