Volunteers needed for Family Science Night at the Swaner EcoCenter
High school-aged and adult volunteers are needed to help with Family Spooktacular Science Night at Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Volunteers will help greet participants and lead activities. No science experience is necessary. The Swaner staff will provide all the materials and training needed. Volunteers are encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes. First Winter Blast with Melissa Manchester
The First Winter Blast, a fundraiser for the Egyptian Theatre, will be held at Montage Deer Valley on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 5:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The music will be presented by Grammy Award-winning singer Melissa Manchester. Manchester is known for her Top 10 hits "Midnight Blue" and "Don't Cry Out Loud." The evening, which is appropriate for ages 21 and older, will include a five-course meal, open bar as well as live and silent auctions. Suggested attire is winter white or silver. Adopt-A-Native Elder Volunteers
Adopt-A-Native Elder needs 150 volunteers to help with the annual Navajo Rug Show that will run from Oct. 31 through Nov. 4. On Monday, Oct. 22, the organization will hold a volunteer meeting at the Park City Community Church, 4501 S.R. 224, at 5:30 p.m. For 23 years, Adopt-A-Native-Elder has brought Navajo weavers to Park City to share their traditional culture with school children and the public. Average White Band at the Egyptian Theatre
Grammy Award nominee Average White Band will bring its Memphis and Motown soul to the Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St., on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. For more than 30 years, the Average White Band has entertained audiences and with hits and album tracks such as "Schoolboy Crush," "Stop The Rain" and "Cloudy."
