A vandal or a group of them slashed 13 tires on Land Rovers that were parked in lower Deer Valley earlier in October as part of a corporate event, the Park City Police Department said.
Phil Kirk, a police captain, said the tires were valued at $250 each, putting the estimated damage at $3,250. The Police Department earlier provided broad information about the case, but the number of tires and the value was not available until the middle of the week.
Twelve of the sport utility vehicles were targeted. Kirk said one of the vehicles suffered two slashed tires while one tire was damaged on each of the others.
The Police Department continues to investigate the case.
The police have said the damage was reported during the morning of Friday, Oct. 19. The Land Rovers had been parked in the lots outside of Snow Park Lodge as part of a rental deal for the spaces between Deer Valley Resort and the lodge where the Land Rover group was staying.
Eight other Land Rovers parked there were not damaged.
The police have said the tires were probably slashed sometime after 11 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 and 7 a.m. the next morning.
