Stand Up Comedy at the Egyptian Theatre
The Egyptian Theatre, 328 Main St., will present two nights of stand-up comedy featuring Big Al Goodwin and Leif Skyving on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. The host will be Park City's own Kathleen McCann. Goodwin gets his audiences to appreciate the lighter side of their own lives relating his observations and experiences. A winner on "America's Funniest People," Goodwin was also a finalist in HBO's "Lucky 21" contest, representing the East Coast in the Las Vegas Comedy Competition. Skyving began his comedy career 20 years ago at the Comedy Store in Hollywood, and has shared the stage with such great acts as Weird Al Yankovic, Howie Mandel, Paul Rodriquez, Steve Alan, and Jimmy "JJ" Walker among others. A caregivers conference will be held at the Wasatch County Senior Center, 465 E. 1200 South, in Heber on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 9 a.m. until noon. Piano Music at the Swaner EcoCenter
The Utah State University Piano Program presents "Beauty Explored in Nature and Music" with past, present and future piano students on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 3:30 p.m. The event will feature the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Liszt, Joseph-Maurice Ravel and Sergei Rachmaninoff. Alzheimer's Association Fundraiser at the Paint Mixer
A fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at The Paint Mixer, 738 Main Street. The public is welcome and previous painting experience or artistic ability is not required. The Paint Mixer team will provide step-by-step instruction. Attendees will create their own original painting and enjoy complementary appetizers and refreshments. They will also have an opportunity to win door prizes. The cost is $40, which includes all materials, instruction as well as wine and refreshments. All proceeds benefit the Alzheimer's Association, the leading, global voluntary health organization one of the largest nonprofit Alzheimer's research organization. New Artspark Session Susan Parker, a state-certified, experienced art teacher, will begin a new eight-week Artspark session for children in grades two through five on Wednesday, Nov 7. The sessions will run through Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 3:45 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Kimball Art Center, 638 Park Ave. Drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and clay will be explored.
