The Goldener Hirsch Inn Restaurant hired new leadership in the kitchen for this winter season, locals Ryan Burnham as the Executive Chef and Billy Williams as Restaurant Manager.
The Goldener Hirsch Inn, located in the Deer Valley Resort Silver Village, serves classic Austrian fare such as schnitzel, fondue and strudel. And it's a tradition Burnham said he was excited to work with, adding his own spin to the award-winning menu.
"It's such a cool little spot, this restaurant, and we are going to be able to get really fun and creative with the food," Burnham said. "Of course, we will stick with the Alpine-Austrian vein, but we also want to support local farmers, do as much as possible local product as we can.
"I'm looking at some modern twist on classic Alpine food ways of tweaking dishes, where we still focus on more rustic cuisine. I think that we're going to be able to get really creative and intricate with the food where we want to and where it is appropriate."
Burnham graduated from the California Culinary Academy and serves as the Executive Chef of Pago in Salt Lake City before taking the position in Park City. He also was the Executive Chef for Wahso in Park City as well as spending several years at the Stein Eriksen Glitretind Restaurant. He was also the opening Chef for the highly acclaimed Gotham Steak restaurant in the newly revitalized Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach.
Fellow Park City local Williams is picking up the reins as the new Restaurant Manager.
"What we're looking to do, both Chef Ryan and I, is to obviously keep the wonderful traditions going forward. We would also like to update our levels of service to ensure wonderful guest satisfaction."
Williams plans to expand the wine and beer list and add live entertainment featuring yodeling, accordion music, Swiss folk songs and European Cabaret music.
