Lee's 2nd Annual Coat Drive
The Park City Pizza company is collecting winter coats for the Road Home, a nonprofit agency in Salt Lake City that assists those experiencing homelessness. "Lee's 2nd Annual Coat Drive" is an event where locals can donate used coats and receive a free medium pizza for dine-in or carryout. The Park City Pizza Company is attempting to fill an entire Volkswagen Bug with donated coats and jackets. Donations will be collected through Dec. 20 and can be dropped off at the Park City Pizza Company location at 1612 Ute Blvd., Suite 111. For more information, call 435-649-1591.
Waldorf Astoria launches new menu
The Waldorf Astoria Park City has created a new mountain menu concept at Slopes by Chef Clement Gelas, a different menu and concept than when Slopes debuted in December 2011. Slopes is the fine dining restaurant at the Waldorf Astoria Park City and will be featuring cuisine driven by the seasons and inspired by the finest ingredients, according to a press release. The dishes and ingredients draw inspiration from the surrounding Wasatch Mountains by sourcing local ingredients from the local area. Signature dishes include a Manti elk carpaccio served with quail egg and parmesan, pine-seared chicken with leeks and mountain mushrooms and pickled baby beets garnished with watercress, fresh shaved truffle and local goat cheese. New desserts include the Nutella fondue, the chai crème brulee and the hot buttered bourbon nightcap. Slopes is open nightly for dining at 6 p.m. and is located at 2100 Frostwood Drive. Utah scenic calendar available
The 2013 edition of the Utah Life Elevated® Scenic Calendar is currently available for purchase online at www.uotstore.com, according to a press release from the Utah Office of Tourism. The calendar is in its 41st year, highlighting many iconic Utah destinations, outdoor activities and events. The Utah Scenic Calendar is recognized annually for design and photography by the National and World Calendar Awards competition hosted by the Calendar Marketing Association, the release continued. Both the 2011 and 2012 editions were honored with a total of 13 awards from the National and World Calendar Awards competition, including the Gold Awards for Best Graphic Design. Individual calendars are $10 each, plus tax and shipping. Bulk orders of 50 or more calendars are offered at $8.
