City Hall recently installed 214 solar panels atop a transit facility on the grounds of the Public Works Building on Iron Horse Drive.
It is the largest solar installation in the Park City limits, City Hall says. It is the sixth installation completed by the municipal government since 2009. The largest one prior to the transit facility was the 88 panels installed on the Park Avenue police station.
The solar panels will generate 25 percent of the annual electricity usage of the Public Works Building and the transit facility.
The panels and the installation cost just less than $242,000. Federal grant money funded most of the cost.
