Utah Open Lands has been given three weeks, until Dec. 31, to raise the money. In return, the land owners, the Sorensen family, agreed to lower the $6.1 million asking price by ten percent.
Summit County hopes to purchase the land, with help from Utah Open Lands, Park City, the Snyderville Basin Recreation District and the Basin Open Space Advisory Committee to preserve the 781 acres of wilderness as open space.

The Summit County Council will vote on the deal at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the Summit County Courthouse, located at 60 North Main Street in Coalville.
The Park City Council will vote on its role in the Toll Canyon agreement during their regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 20 at the Marsac Building, located at 445 Marsac Avenue.
