They came to Park City weeks, if not months ago, for winter work, but several seasonal workers still cannot find a place to live.

Fifteen workers are still without affordable housing, and are living at the Best Western until something else becomes available.

"So they have that, but it's obviously not ideal," said Rob Harter, Christian Center of Park City executive director. "This was a very difficult year. We've had a hard time finding enough places for these seasonal workers, but we still want to help them."

Even though the Roommate Roundup, which the Christian Center holds annually to help seasonal workers connect with community members offering housing, ended on Dec. 19, the Christian Center is providing at least two more opportunities for workers to find housing.

"But we'll extend it as long as we need," Harter said.

From Jan. 8 to March 5, the Christian Center will be holding Tuesday Nite Live, where seasonal workers can socialize and enjoy free dinner and entertainment.

"One of the things we want to do is make the Christian Center a home away from home," Harter said. "Most of them come to our food pantry and get food from us, then go to our thrift store for things like mattresses, ski equipment and household items.

"Then on Tuesday nights, we're able to provide them with a fun night out, where they can build friendships and also get to know people from the community that come and serve."

To help workers who still have not found housing, the Christian Center is providing an extended Roommate Roundup at 5 p.

m. before the first two Tuesday Nite Lives.

"We recommend they come early for an extension of the Roommate Roundup, and as soon as we're done with that, they can stick around for the dinner at 6 p.m.," he said.

Harter added that he's not only looking for members of the community willing to open their homes to seasonal workers, but also those who want to provide meals for Tuesday Nite Live.

"Typically, people like it so much that we often have a waiting list for people who want to sponsor a meal. But it's always good to get new people who haven't done it before," he said.
