Park City Nutrition Center Body Challenge
The Park City Nutrition Center, 1787 1787 Sidewinder Dr., third floor, will hold registrations for its inaugural Body Challenge on Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. The challenge, which will award points for building muscle and dropping fat will run through Feb. 15, with readings taken at the center. Lunar Independent Music Festival
The Lunar Independent Music Festival will run through Wednesday, Jan. 16, in various venues in Park City and Salt Lake City. Park City concerts will be held at the Spur Bar & Grill, 352 Main St., and will continue with Eyes Open and Cardiac on Jan. 10. The Lunar Independent Music Festival provides the opportunity for independent musicians of all genres to gain international recognition while exposing attendees to the creativity of independent musicians. Festival passes that allow entry to all the shows throughout the festival are $50.
'The Clean Bin Project' Screening
Recycle Utah and the Park City Film Series will present a screening of the documentary "The Clean Bin Project," on Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Jim Santy Auditorium at the Park City Library and Education Center, 1255 Park Ave., at 7 p.m. The award-winning film follows a couple's quest to live waste free for a year. Anna Deavere Smith at the Eccles Center
Tony Award-nominated actress Anna Deavere Smith will bring her one-woman show to the Eccles Center of the Performing Arts, 1750 Kearns Blvd., on Saturday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 p.m. When Smith takes the stage, she's not afraid to spark a bit of social change. Her signature talent is an ability to transform herself into anyone, as seen in her performance "Twilight: Los Angeles," which is about the Los Angeles riots of 1992, where Smith interviewed thousands of Americans in order to write and create characters for the performance.
