Park City is one of at least four places that qualified to advance in the bidding for the Winter X Games, ESPN said on Thursday, putting the city in competition with two top-tier domestic mountain destinations and one in Canada.

The others that qualified and were identified are:

  • Aspen and Snowmass in Colorado

  • the Lake Tahoe region in California and Nevada

  • Quebec City and Le Massif de Charlevoix in Canada

ESPN in a release said the list only includes places that chose to be identified. It was not immediately known whether others qualified to host the Winter X Games but were not named in the release.

Proposals are due by April 2. ESPN is considering hosts for the Winter X Games in 2015, 2016 and 2017. The Winter X Games have traditionally been held in the Aspen area.
