According to a court case highlighted by County Prosecuting Attorney Matthew Bates, Joel William Draper, 25, was pulled over on Jan. 24 on I-80 in Summit County for speeding.

According to the charging documents, Trooper Niel Ekberg deployed a police K-9 to detect narcotics in the vehicle. Following a positive indication, Ekberg searched the vehicle and discovered 166 pounds of marijuana inside five duffle bags. The illegal drugs were vacuum sealed, placed in garbage bags and greased with oil.

Draper was arrested and booked into the Summit County Jail with charges of second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance, third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and class C misdemeanor speeding.

Draper has a roll call hearing scheduled Feb. 25.
