Monthly Gallery Stroll
On the last Friday of each month, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., members of the Park City Gallery Association offer a unique monthly showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits and art events. The February stroll, which will be held Friday, Feb. 22, is a free event that gives residents and Park City visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while exploring Park City's exciting art scene. Park City Film Series Launches 'Go Digital or Go Dark'
The Park City Film Series is launching a fundraising campaign called "Go Digital or Go Dark" in order to purchase a digital projector. The estimated cost for the projector and related upgrades is $100,000. So far, the Film Series has already raised $20,000 due to a matching grant from the 2012 Restaurant Tax fund.
Special Olympics Utah Polar Plunge
The Park City Municipal Athletic and Recreation Center (MARC), 1200 Little Kate Rd., will host the Special Olympics Utah Polar Plunge on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. until noon. The event, which will feature individuals, teams and Special Olympics athletes, jumping and swimming in cold water, is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics. Register in advance online at www.firstgiving.com or register at the venue at 10 a.m.. The VIP Plunge will start at 11 a.m. and the open plunge will continue at 11:10 am. Park City Culinary Institute March Class
The Park City Culinary Institute will present a Kaiseki session with Chef Roy Yamamoto on Sunday, March 3, at Temple Har Shalom, 3700 Brookside Ct. The class will begin at 6 p.m. Yamamoto, who attended the Tsuji Culinary Institute in Osaka, will teach Kaiseki, which is a traditional Japanese meal. His wife Miyako will also prepare appetizers that will complement the dinner. Tickets are available at www.pcculinary.com.
