Trailside Elementary students were honored Tuesday, at the Trailblazer assembly. Winter Vinecki, the 2010 Iron Kids Ambassador, Tri-athlete and 14-year-old motivational speaker spoke with students about doing and being their best. Her talk focused on her life as a young athlete and her support for prostate cancer research. She is an Ambassador to the sport of triathlon and goes into schools across America encouraging kids to lead an active, positive and healthy lifestyle. She encourages kids to not only race for themselves but for a cause. Winter is the newest and youngest member of Fly Elite Aerial ski team here in Park City. Winter is training year round with the hopes of making the 2018 Winter Olympics. Winter was just 9 years-old when she formed a non-profit called Team Winter to raise awareness and money for Prostate Cancer, the cancer that took her dad's life. Winter is currently running a marathon on every continent in memory of her dad and to honor the 1 in 6 men affected by prostate cancer. She will be the youngest person to ever attempt this. Winter left this week to visit Antarctica, her next marathon.
