Moving to your favorite vacation destination for a job you've only dreamt of may seem unrealistic.

But, according to Matt Gebo, Park City Mountain Resort's new director of marketing and communications, he's doing exactly that.

“This is my dream job, to be marketing director for a top resort in the country,” Gebo said in an interview with The Park Record. “I have a lot of connections and friends that live in Park City. I've lived in Park City before and since moving away, it has been my favorite place to visit.”

Effective in April, Gebo will assume responsibility for the development and management of all brand marketing and communications efforts for the resort.

Gebo brings over 15 years of experience to his new role. Currently he is wrapping things up at Mount Snow in Vermont, where he holds the director of marketing and communications position. He has also filled marketing roles at Mammoth Mountain in California and Canyons Resort. During his three-year tenure at Canyons, Gebo claims he fell in love with the area and has been trying to get back ever since.

Gebo who specializes in branding, guest segmentation and loyalty, and digital marketing, was an easy selection for the job according to Jenni Smith, president and general manager of Park City Mountain Resort.

“Matt's experience within the ski industry and passion for the sport made him the perfect fit for this position,” Smith said in a recent press release sent to The Park Record. “He will help continue the growth of the Park City Mountain Resort brand and maintain its position as one of the top resorts in North America.”

A passionate skier, Gebo was raised skiing on the East Coast. He attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he earned a bachelor's degree in communications.

“Now it's just a matter of getting in town and going to work with the team,” Gebo said. “Once I have my feet wet, I can help continue to strengthen the brand and moving forward into new markets.”
