"Snowbird is known for its terrain, snow and Tram. We are committed to adding outstanding customer service to that list and Dave (Fields) is going to help us achieve that goal," said Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort President Bob Bonar, during an interview with Powder Magazine in October of 2010, when Fields was announce the new vice president of resort operations.

Bonar didn't mention the resort's website's success, and for good reason.

Despite the high-speed of advancing technology the past decade, it had nearly been that amount of time since the resort's website had any upgrading done to it.

In his commitment to customer service when filling the position, Fields held true to his promise early in his tenure. Last December, the resort did an overhaul on the website and the response from their most important clients, the locals, is overwhelming, said Fields, during an interview with The Park Record.

"Well, it was honestly shocking to people who were familiar with the old site," Fields said. "When we first launched the new design, it looked so different from the old one. After the initial shock, they loved the simplicity and cleanliness of the website, and how easy it was to navigate from their phone."

According to Fields, the decision to change the website was easy. Yet, deciding who would take on the operation was a different story.

"Designing a website has become much more complicated with the adoption rate of mobile users," Fields said. "Websites need to work on all avenues: cellphones and pc. When we were looking for a group to design the website, we needed someone that would be successful with this year's technology, but we wanted someone who would be effective for five."

Rally Interactive, had the visionary tract record Fields and his team we're looking for to re-design the face lift that would be responsible for the image the resort is trying to portray to local, national and international travelers.

Local skiers, who check the website's snow report more frequently than their work e-mail inbox during the winter months, are very particular about the website's abilities and the team at Rally Interactive recognizes this, because they're locals too.

The Park City based digital creative studio established in 2011 by locals Thomas Cooke, Ben Cline and Wes Pearce, build digital products including responsive websites, mobile-optimized websites, and native apps for iOS and Android devices. A client list which includes: National Geographic, UTAH.com, Kühl, Activision, Intel and Audi.

The team has been nominated for the 2013 Webby Awards for their design and development with the resorts website.

In order to reflect the tremendous growth of the Internet as a tool for business and everyday life, the 17th annual Webby Awards, honors excellence on the internet. According to a press release from the annual event, 11,000 entries from websites, interactive advertising and media, online film and video, mobile and social web leaders from all 50 states and 60 countries worldwide with hopes of being nominated for their represented category.

Snowbird is one of five nominees for top website in the corporate communications category, along with Google, Heineken, McDonalds and Warby Parker.
