So far, Utah Highway Patrol deputies do not know why a Mazda driven by 29-year-old Kallie Nelson, of Henefer, veered across the Interstate 80 median near Echo on Saturday afternoon.

Nelson was traveling eastbound and struck an westbound Mercury SUV driven by Judith Nethercott, age 65, of Riverton, Wyoming. Both women were killed in the accident. There were no passengers in either car. The wreck snarled westbound traffic for over an hour while emergency personnel cleared the vehicles off the highway.

Nethercott worked in the financial aid office at Central Wyoming College.

Kallie Nelson worked as a dental assistant in Coalville where a coworker said, "She was a sweetheart to everyone. She is loved and missed."

Kallie was married to Colt Nelson and the mother of two boys, ages five and nine. On Monday, Colt Nelson said the family was still finalizing funeral arrangements.
