PCHS Boys' Basketball Meeting
On Wednesday, Sept. 4, there will be a meeting for all boys in grades 9-12 interested in playing basketball for PCHS this coming season. The meeting will be at 2:45 p.m. in Coach Fine's room (Room 23) at the high school. The meeting will discuss fall workouts, open gyms, skill sessions, AAU games and tryout dates. If you are planning on trying out for the Miners' boys' basketball team or even considering trying out, this meeting is for you.
PCHS Fall Lacrosse Meeting
Registration for the Park City High School boys' fall lacrosse season will be open from Aug. 28 until Sept. 2 at www.parkcitylacrosse.org. The team will hold a meeting on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. on the east side of Treasure Mountain Middle School for all players who plan to play fall lacrosse. Players who will play spring lacrosse are also welcome.
Hole in One
Maralee Lopez shot a hole in one on Hole No. 2 at Park City Golf Club on Aug. 19. She used a 5 rescue hybrid. Witnesses were present.
Dryland Training at the PC MARC
Dryland Training, designed for those seeking personal-training attention in a group setting, runs Aug. 27 to Oct. 3 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the PC MARC. The program will help increase muscular endurance levels and prepare for seasonal activities. The fee is $145 and deadline to register is Aug. 25. For info, visit

Fall Junior Tennis
Park City Recreation offers Session 1 of Fall Junior Tennis Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 3 to 4:30 p.m., Aug. 26 to Oct. 19. All levels of high school, grades 8-12, are welcome. Team A, for intermediate and advanced tournament players, meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 4:30 to 6 p.m., at City Park. Team B, for beginner and intermediate non-tournament players ages 10-13, plays Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, 4:30 to 6 p.m. Players ages 3-10 meet Monday to Thursday, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. For info and registration, visit pcrecreation.org or call 615-5400.
Bike With Basin
Bike with Basin Recreation during two adult beginner mountain-bike clinics on Aug. 27 and 29 from 9 a.m. to noon. Learn the basics and connect with new riders. Bike handling skills will include steep inclines and descents, switchbacks, and cornering. Meet at the Trailside Bike Park on Tuesday for skills training and a short ride around Round Valley. Meet at the Fieldhouse at Kimball Junction on Thursday to ride the Glenwild Trail. Cost is $20 per clinic. Space is limited, so be sure to register ASAP. Don't miss Back to Cool, Monday, Sept. 9, 5:30-6:15 p.m. Try ice skating for the first time or practice your skating and get ready for fall class. Meet with participants from Ice Miner youth hockey, Figure Skating Club of Park City and the Park City Speed Skating Club and learn about their programs. This is a free event (admission and skate rental included).
Summer Skate Series
Park City Recreation presents Utah's premier skate competition series at the Park City Skate Park. The last event of the series will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m. Six divisions cater to all levels of skaters, and there are great prizes. Basin Rec Guided Hike
Explore Basin Recreation's vast trail system with a free guided hike on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 10:30 a.m. on Rob's Trail. Meet at Rob's Trailhead in Sun Peak. The trails staff picks a different trail every few weeks in the summer. Hikes last an hour and a half to two hours. See the website for a full list of dates and locations. All-Girls Skate Session
Girls ages five and older are invited to learn to skate in this fun clinic that offers instruction for all levels. The clinic runs Sept. 8-29 on Sundays, 10-11:30 a.m., at the Park City Skate Park. Primal Move at Silver Mountain
Primal Move is not your typical gym workout. It is a hot new fitness trend that brings back the playful side of exercise. It's perfect for athletes who want to prevent injuries or anyone wanting to improve balance and flexibility. Swing for Sports

Paddleboard Fitness and Yoga Classes
Park City Standup Paddleboarding offers on-the-water yoga classes every Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. PC SUP also offers paddleboard fitness classes on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. The classes cost $20 each and include a board rental. Pickleball at the PC MARC
One of the fastest-growing sports in America, Pickleball is now offered at the PC MARC. This fun sport has simple rules and lots of action. Racquet-sport enthusiasts and newcomers are welcome to play on the MARC's three indoor Pickleball courts Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon. Fee is $3 per player. Couples League at PC Golf Club
The Couples League, for beginning to advanced golfers, is new for 2013 at the Park City Golf Club. Handicaps are not used and you do not have to be a member of the USGA. Aquafit at the PC MARC
Instructors at the PC MARC will offer a great cardio and water resistance-based workout at the PC MARC leisure pool.
