PCHS girls’ golf keeps rolling
The Park City High School girls’ golf team is making quick work of Region 10 so far this season.
The Miners started region play on March 19, when they played a match hosted by Juan Diego. Park City got off to a strong start, winning by 34 strokes over second-place Uintah.
Hanna Shluker had the best score for Park City and the third-best score overall, shooting an 81. Saylor Rabe and Sam Tan tied for fourth overall, shooting 84s. Rachel Frain rounded out Park City’s top four with a 90.
The Miners continued their strong play on Thursday at Uintah. After winning by 34 strokes the week before, Park City played even better on the Utes’ home course, winning by an even larger margin.
Park City Coach George Murphy recapped the Miners’ dominance during Thursday’s match.
"[We] placed first by 44 strokes over Uintah," he said. "We have a 78-stroke lead over second place."
This time, Tan led the way, shooting an 81. Shluker and Sarah Marshall followed with a pair of 84s and Saylor Rabe rounded out Park City’s top four by shooting a 92.
Park City’s next region match is scheduled for Thursday and will be hosted by Union. The Miners will host a Region 10 match on April 23 at Park City Golf Course, beginning at 10 a.m.
