Snow plow county codes in effect

Summit County is warning residents that public parking on all public roads in prohibited from Nov. 1 to April 30 so that snow plows can effectively clear snow. The county is authorized to tow a vehicle without notice to the owner if there is more than four inches of snow.

Gas prices still declining statewide

Average retail gasoline prices in Utah have fallen 5.6 cents per gallon

in the past week, averaging $2.98 per gallon on Christmas Day. This compares with the national average that has increased 0.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.23 per gallon, according to gasoline price website UtahGasPrices.com. Park City prices have yet to fall under $3 per gallon, but prices have dropped by more than ten cents in the past month. Overall, prices are still roughly 22 cents higher per gallon than the same day last year, but 28.8 cents lower per gallon compared to last month.

Midway Ice Rink open for business

The Midway Ice Rink is open for the winter. It is Utah’s largest refrigerated outdoor ice rink. NHL hockey player Luc Robitaille helped get the boards donated to Midway and the rink is equipped with a zamboni ice resurfacer. The outdoor rink serves hot chocolate and rents more than 500 rental skates. Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children.
