According to a press release, Park City is the second most popular destination in North America for early skiing with users of Orbitz.com. Lake Tahoe is No. 1 and Breckenridge, Colorado is No. 3.

Park City Career Network has helped 43

According to an email update, the Park City Career Network that meets every Monday at 9 a.m. at the Temple Har Shalom to help people reinvent themselves and transition into new careers has helped 43 people find new work since beginning in August 2009. That’s a 45 percent "graduation" rate.

PCMR gets green award

Utah Business magazine recently named Park City Mountain Resort as one of Utah’s "greenest" businesses for its environmentally-friendly practices. For many seasons the resort has worked to reduce energy use, its carbon footprint and has purchased large amounts of "green" energy.

Slow but steady growth predicted for Utah

According to a press release, for a thirteenth straight month, the overall index for the Mountain States region, a leading economic indicator for the three-state area of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming, moved above "growth neutral 50.0." According to the October survey of supply managers in the Mountain States, the region will experience economic growth in the months ahead. Based on the monthly survey of the local membership of the National Association of Purchasing Management in Utah, the overall index climbed to 56.0 from 54.3 in September. After gaining almost 21,000 jobs between December 2009 and May 2010, the state then lost more than 12,000 between May 2010 and last September, the report said. Job growth is expected to increase over the coming months.
