Parking on Main Street will be free on Thursdays through the middle of November as City Hall and businesses attempt to entice customers to the street during the fall.

It is the second year free parking has been offered on Thursdays.

Three-hour time limits remain intact.

City Hall covered the meters with plastic wrap and posted signs on them explaining the program. It ends on Nov. 15, traditionally around the same time as the start of the ski season.

Main Street's leadership says people appreciated the program in 2011.
