On Sat., June 8, the Summit County Fair Board crowned Ashley Keyes as the 2013 Miss Summit County Rodeo Queen and Grace Crystal Little Miss Buckaroo Rodeo Queen. Both won their titles after a challenging day of competition at the Summit County Fairgrounds in Coalville.
Three girls vied for the title of Miss Summit County Rodeo, as their friends and families gathered in the Quonset hut to cheer them on. The events' mediators came from the neighboring state of Wyoming to judge the different categories within the competition.
The girls gave a 3 minute speech about the tradition of the historic Summit County Fair, answered an impromptu question, were quizzed on their knowledge of the county and rodeo, gave a brief interview, took photos for a photogenic category and competed in a horsemanship event, where they rode several patterns including one unpracticed and surprise presentation ride

Event organizer Bridgette Blonquist said "Summit County is lucky to have such a high caliber group of young ladies represent us. They all did a wonderful job and it was fun being a part of such a great contest."
As appointed royalty the girls will represent Summit County by attending various activities throughout the county and the state in an effort to promote the Fair. Some of these activities include the Oakley and Park City Fourth of July Parades, Kamas Fiesta Days Parade and The Days of 47 Parade in Salt Lake City.
This year the tradition continues of The Summit County Fair. The event has been a part of the County's cultural and social fabric since the early 1900's, now over 100 years later the fair is still an active part of Summit County.
