A crew hired by Sundance Film Festival organizers is filming outside the Egyptian Theatre on Main Street this week as work continues on the trailer that will be shown before each screening during the festival in January.

A Sundance spokesperson said the filming is planned from 9 p.m. on Wednesday until 6 a.m. on Thursday. There was also work in the overnight hours between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Randy Barton, the managing director of the Egyptian Theatre, said Sundance is projecting images onto the front face of the historic theater and filming the images.

The Egyptian Theatre is a longtime Sundance screening room during the festival.

Main Street will be closed to traffic between 12:45 a.m. and 3:45 a.m. Thursday morning between the southern end of the street and 4th Street. Traffic will be diverted onto 4th Street and Swede Alley.
