Flu and pneumonia shot schedule
The Summit County Health Department now offers flu and pneumonia vaccines with no appointment necessary during clinic hours, according to a Health Dept. release.
For children aged six months to 18 years old with no insurance or Medicaid, the cost for a flu shot and flu mist is $10. The regular cost is $20. For those age 65 and older, a high dose flu shot is $40 and a pneumonia vaccine is $65, with Medicare being billed.
Vaccination clinics and times are:
Park City (650 Round Valley Dr.) Wednesdays from 9-11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. until vaccine is gone. The clinic will have extended hours on Wednesday, Oct. 9, of 1-6 p.m. Call 435-333-1500 for vaccine availability.
Coalville (85 East 50 North) Every Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. in October and November; extended clinic will be on Oct. 1 from 2-6 p.m. Afterwards, the clinic will be open every Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. until vaccine is gone. Call 435-336-3234 for vaccine availability.
Kamas (110 N. Main St.) Every Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m. in October and November; extended clinic will be on Oct. 1 from 2-6 p.m. Call the office at 435-783-4351 ext. 3071 for clinic times in December and vaccine availability.
Summit County Senior Tour
The Summit County Senior program will be touring the historic Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake City this month. Following the tour, participants will be taken on a wagon ride around the farm. After the tour, the group will have lunch at Zupas.
The deadline to sign up for the tour is Friday, Oct. 18, and the event is open to any seniors in Summit County. To sign up, interested seniors can visit their local senior center or call Summit County Seniors Director Heather Nalette at 435-336-3014.
Two important deadlines are coming up for the Nov. 5 general election. Sunday, Oct. 6, is the last day a resident can establish residency. Monday, Oct. 7, is the last day to register to vote via mail. For more information on voter registration, visit summitcounty.org.
