Calling all Barbaras

The annual tradition celebrating St. Barbara’s birthday will be held on Dec. 2, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Barbara Maben, 6227 Park Ridge Drive, Park City, 84098. "Our Lives, Our Stories"

This traveling exhibit focuses on the generation born in the 1910s and 1920s; they lived through the Depression, fought in World War II, and created the "baby boom." This exhibit sets the scene and will transport you back in time to hang out at the soda fountain or in a 1950s kitchen. The exhibit continues through March 16, 2011, at the Park City Museum, 528 S. Lynden Legacy Family Turkey Trot

Walk, run or trot a 5K, Nov. 25, in honor and remembrance of Bruce McGowan a father, husband, Unified Firefighter and friend tragically lost in an automobile accident in Parley’s Canyon on Sept. 11, 2010. Registration and starting line at the Midway Town Hall before 9 a.m.. All proceeds and donations will go to the McGowan Family.

Community Thanksgiving dinner

The Park City Interfaith Council will host a community-wide interfaith Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 25, at Park City Community Church. The celebration will run from 11 a.m. through 1 p.m. and is open to all. The Thanksgiving dinner is free and includes music by local musicians and a traditional Thanksgiving menu. For those who would like to volunteer with cooking, set up the night before, on a serving crew or clean up crew, please call Carol Flippin at 540-448-3987. Park City Community Church is located at 4501 North Highway 224, directly behind the Park City Nursery.

Swaner EcoCenter Crafts Sale

The Swaner EcoCenter will host a Holiday Fine Arts & Crafts Exhibit/Sale Friday, Nov. 26 through Dec. 18 at 1258 Center Drive. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday, noon to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit will feature all mediums of fine arts and fine crafts. Come do your Christmas shopping in harmony with nature.

Mountain Town Music

Monthly Gallery Stroll

On the last Friday of each month, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., members of the Park City Gallery Association offer a unique monthly showcase highlighting artists, special exhibits, and art events. The last Friday Gallery Stroll is a free community event that gives locals and Park City visitors alike the opportunity to enjoy light refreshments while exploring Park City’s exciting art scene. Soldier Hollow Express Scenic Excursion

This 90-minute train ride, running through Dec. 31, offers incredible views of the Wasatch Mountains, wide-open vistas of Deer Creek Reservoir and the beautiful Heber Valley. The Soldier Hollow Express departs at 3 p.m. from the Heber Valley Railroad, 450 S. 600 West. Schedule is subject to change. The Silver Mine Connect

The Christian Center of Park City sponsors weekly lunch gatherings focused on discussing and growing your faith. Brad Kramer of Search Ministries leads weekly meetings every Wednesday at noon.
