Want to bee in the parade?

All participants in The Park Record Spelling Bee are invited to walk with the Record’s float in the Fourth of July parade down Main Street on Saturday. The Park Record is entry number 53. Harry Potter sneak preview

The Park City Education Foundation is sponsoring a sneak preview of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at the Restone Cinema 8 in Kimball Junction on Tuesday, July 14. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online at pcef4kids.org. Join them for costume and trivia contest, prize giveaways and seeing your favorite Harry Potter characters one day before they hit the screen across the country.

The Fifth Annual Park City Food and Wine Classic returns to town next weekend, from July 9-12. The event starts Thursday evening with a Wine on the Mountain kickoff celebration at Red Pine Lodge at The Canyons resort at 6 p.m. Events continue through Sunday and include a stroll of Main Street, Toast of Park City Grand Tasting, Wine Makers’ Dinner, live auction and various food seminars. The event is designed to appeal to both food aficionados and novices.

Photovoltaic finish!

On July 7, Recycle Utah will present a workshop on photovoltaic power from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Park City Board of Realtors office.

The workshop will focus on getting electricity from the sun and will be taught by Bill Wilson, of Utah Solar and Alternative Energy. He will explain how photovoltaic systems work, how net metering can save money on electric bills and available tax incentives for utilizing photovoltaic energy.

Recycle Utah will also offer fast track information packages on installing solar hot water systems, which include a fast track application from the Park City Building Department and a fast track loan application from Frontier Bank.

Popcorn Media is bringing Movie Star Camp to the Egyptian Theatre starting Monday, July 6. Kids between the ages of 6-15 can learn how to act and will receive a speaking role in a professionally-produced short film, tailored to their age and experience.
