Student achievement

Congratulations to Elisabeth Archer of Park City High School and Chase Black, of North Summit High School who were both recently awarded $1,000 from the Comcast Foundation as a scholarship for their colleges of choice.

UVSC to offer health classes

The UVSC Wasatch Campus will introduce new health education classes designed to get students started on careers in medicine. Three courses are scheduled to begin in June and end in July or August. For more information, visit http://www.ce.uvsc.edu/training.

Education and recreation

The Park City School District has released its summer slate of community education courses. Courses will include guitar, yoga, photography, comic book creation and bike repair among many others. For more information, call the Park City School District at (435) 645-5600.

Furry scholarships

Summit County Friends of Animals announced the creation of a $2,000 scholarship for a high school student with a record of animal advocacy. The award will be given on May 29 during the Park City Education Foundation ceremony at the Eccles Center.

Colby graduates

The Colby School will graduate their Class of 2008 on May 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the Jim Santy Auditorium. For more information, call The Colby School (435) 655-3966.
