PCEF offers tickets to early Harry Potter premier

The Park City Education Foundation will be selling tickets to an early premier of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at the foundation office in the high school. Tickets went on sale Tuesday and will continue through Wednesday. Two theaters at the Cinemark Theater on Kearns Blvd. will premier the movie Thursday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $10. Remaining tickets will be available at the theater beginning at 4 p.m., Nov. 18.

Orthopedic scholarships for four Summit County schools

Heiden Davidson Orthopedics, a Park City-based practice, is offering the Heiden Davidson Orthopedics Sport and Health Science Scholarship to four graduating seniors this year. Expanding from just one school last year, students from Park City High School, the Winter Sports School, North Summit High School and South Summit High School are eligible to apply. Students with an interest in medicine need two teacher recommendations and a 3.0 GPA or higher to qualify for the scholarship. The deadline for applications is Dec. 15.

Parkite receives Student Laureate Award

Linda Winkelman, a Park City resident currently attending Lake Forest College in Illinois, received recognition as a Student Laureate from the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. Winkelman received her award during a special ceremony Nov. 6, at the Old State Capitol State Historic Site in Springfield, Ill. The academy’s student laureate awards are presented to a small number of seniors studying at each of the four-year colleges and universities in Illinois for curricular and extracurricular excellence. Winkelman was one of only 50 students to receive the award.
