Girl falls 32 feet from Deer Valley lift, taken to hospital

A 10-year-old girl fell off a chairlift at Deer Valley Resort on Saturday and was taken to a Salt Lake City hospital, the resort said.

The girl was on the Red Cloud chairlift at about 11 a.m. when she fell approximately 32 feet, Deer Valley said. The resort said the girl was not the only person on the chair at the time. It said there are "unconfirmed reports that she was not feeling well prior to the fall." Deer Valley said the girl is believed to live locally.

The resort did not provide details about her injuries. An ambulance took her to Primary Children’s Hospital.

Red Cloud is a three-person lift on the resort’s Flagstaff Mountain.
