November 17, 2010
The Summit County Council on Monday canvassed the Election Day results, affirming Democrat Corrie Kirklen won the treasurer’s office in what was the campaign with the tightest margin when the votes were counted initially.
The County Council, acting as the Board of Canvassers, approved the results by a 4-0 vote. County Councilman David Ure was not present, Kent Jones, the Summit County clerk, said.
The results on Election Day put Kirklen 202 votes ahead of Republican Henry Glasheen. The canvass narrowed the gap to 178 votes, Jones said.
