Kyle is survived by his wife, Goldy Joe, his sister, Rebecca Lang, his brother, Alan Jessen, and four nieces and nephews, Rob and Rachel Lang, Toby Jessen and Amanda DeGroot.

Kyle’s greatest passion was skiing and he took great pride in being the founder of the Mountain Host Department at Deer Valley Ski Resort. Coaching Special Olympics also brought him great personal gratification.

Kyle was the impetus, promoting restoration of Historical 25th Street, in Ogden, Utah, in the early ’80s. His name can be seen on some of the restored buildings.

As an event planner he managed and directed the Park City Art Festival and Weber County Fair and Rodeo. The KSL Doug Miller Outdoor Expo, Hoop It Up, and Savor the Summit were other events that he lent his talent and expertise to.

His love of Southern Utah, hiking, camping and exploring the wonders of the earth were only exceeded by his appreciation of fresh "corduroy."

Kyle personified integrity. He gave 120% of himself to the task at hand, seeking perfection, never requesting anyone to do a job that he himself didn’t do alongside of them.

He will be missed beyond words and whenever any miracle of nature is observed, Kyle will come to mind.

A celebration of his life will occur at a later date.

Contributions can be made to Utah Special Olympics or Huntsman Cancer Institute in lieu of flowers.

Cremation under the direction of Leavitt’s Mortuary.
