Marsac housing hearing scheduled
February 27, 2008
The Park City Planning Commission Wednesday is scheduled to take comments from the public about a work force housing project that Talisker Corp.-controlled United Park City Mines wants to build in Old Town.
The meeting is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. in the Park City Council chambers at City Hall, but it is unclear what time the Planning Commissioners will discuss the housing.
The developers want to build about 20 units at 100 Marsac Ave. The housing would count toward some of the work force housing requirements of the developer’s Empire Pass project in Deer Valley.
The meeting has additional significance this week, as Talisker on Thursday is set to discuss wider work force housing issues with the Park City Council in an effort to break a logjam between itself and City Hall.
People who live along the Marsac Avenue corridor in January panned the idea, saying 20 units are too many for the site, among other concerns.
The site is located near the land where Habitat for Humanity wants to build a smaller work force housing development.
