A 37-year-old Park City man died on Saturday from the injuries he sustained while trying to avoid a collision on his motorcycle.
Kory Walsh was traveling east on Pinebrook Boulevard on Friday around 5:30 p.m., when a 16-year-old driver turned in front of him onto Interstate 80, according to a press release from the Summit County Sheriff’s Department.
Witnesses reported that Walsh swerved to avoid the collision, but both Walsh and his motorcycle overturned and slid across the asphalt, eventually colliding with the 16-year-old’s vehicle. The release stated Walsh was not wearing a helmet.
Medical Services from Park City Fire District arrived on scene and an air ambulance transported Walsh to Wasatch Front Hospital, with serious head injuries. He died on Saturday.
The press release stated that investigators determined drugs or alcohol were not a factor and the driver was not distracted at the time of the accident.
