by Jay Hamburger THE PARK RECORD

The Park City Police Department last week received at least three reports of moose ambling into neighborhoods.

The cases included:

  • on Saturday, March 30 at 9:39 a.m., a young moose was seen on or just off of Mellow Mountain Road. The animal appeared to be ill, the police were told. It was having difficulty walking up the hill, the person who contacted the police said.
  • on Thursday, March 28 at 7:18 p.m., a moose was seen in a yard on or close to the 2100 block of Park Avenue. The animal headed toward a nearby bicycle trail, but the person who contacted the police was worried that it would move onto the road.
  • on Thursday, March 28 at 6:33 p.m., a moose was reportedly seen on a sidewalk in front of a store on the 100 block of Main Street. The person who contacted the police was concerned people were getting too close to the animal.
