Park City’s Wasatch 360TV heading to Fox

Park City-based Wasatch 360TV is expanding growing some legs.

The local production has landed a weekly 30-minute slot on Fox 13, beginning Saturday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 a.m.

The program will lead into "Fox GoodDay Utah Weekend Edition."

Wasatch 360TV managing partners Larry Feldman and Fox’s weatherman John Goulet, said goal of the program is to be an independently produced news magazine that covers the state of Utah.

"It’s a lifestyle-format show that will cover anything from ski resorts to restaurants to hotels to events and equipment and gadgets," Feldman said. "We’ve developed a relationship with Cole Sport for a segment called ‘What’s Hot’ that will focus on new items in powder skis or carving skis or boots and poles and helmets each week."

Jessica Kunzer of Ski Utah has been signed on to help with host segments.

"She’ll help us talk about the latest fashions and the latest spas and things like that, because no one wants to see me in a new pink ski jacket," Feldman said.

Also, there will be a Kid’s Cam segment that will be filmed from the perspective of local children.

"In the summer, we’ll also cover hiking, biking and rafting," Goulet said.

"We don’t want to be just a ski show, because the snow stops falling from the sky at some point," Feldman said with a laugh. "Some of the resorts have already approached us about summer coverage because they feel that winter already takes care of itself."

Wasatch 360TV was officially established in July and Goulet approached Fox about purchasing a time slot.

Feldman and Goulet felt the morning window would best serve their purpose.

"We had chances to go on later during the day, but as much as we’d like to think we’re important, football trumps us, and the 2 p.m. slot would not work, because people aren’t watching TV then," Feldman said. "They’re on the slopes or golfing, so Fox was excited to have a lead in from a news magazine instead of paid programming that the other channels are doing Saturday mornings."
