Argument, attempted assault reported between driver and cyclist
A conflict between a driver and a bicyclist occurred last week, with the Park City Police Department being called afterward.
According to the Police Department, dispatchers were told a man driving on Queen Esther Drive almost hit a bicyclist at 6:09 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26.
The police were told the driver stopped, got out, argued with the person and tried to assault the bicyclist.
Public police logs do not provide details of the case.
Bicyclists in Park City frequently drive on streets and there are numerous close calls.

The report comes as City Hall tries to make Park City easier to navigate for pedestrians, bicyclists and others not driving cars.

On Wednesday, June 27 at 11:10 p.m., the police received a complaint of a residential burglary and theft on the 2100 block of Prospector Avenue. Public police logs do not provide details.
At 11:49 p.m., officers removed cones from the middle of lower Main Street. The police say someone reported a woman put them in the road.
An officer on Main Street, looking for the owner of a dog, found the person at 10:43 p.m. Earlier that night, at 9:55 p.m., a barking dog was reported on Daly Avenue. Officers found the owner on nearby Main Street, who tended to the pet.
The police received a complaint of a woman driver, possibly drunk, in a blue sport-utility vehicle near the Park Avenue-Short Line Road intersection at 10:39 p.m. The driver was last seen heading north on Park Avenue, which is the direction away from Main Street.
Officers were unable to locate the vehicle and alerted the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
Officers arrested a man on the 300 block of Daly Avenue at 8:51 p.m. after a man reported his roommate assaulted him. The police booked the suspect into jail on an assault charge. An ambulance was called but public police logs do not detail injuries.
At 7:43 p.m., construction material was seen piled in one lane of the road on the 2100 block of Lucky John Drive. An officer contacted the contractor.
An officer wrote a driver a ticket on a count of following too closely after a traffic accident was reported at the Bonanza Drive-Iron Horse Drive intersection at 5:27 p.m.
A cement truck reportedly was blocking the road near the Deer Valley Drive Solamere Drive intersection at 4:42 p.m. An officer spoke to a contractor at the site, who planned to position a flagger there.
A bicycle accident was reported at the Monitor Drive-Kearns Boulevard intersection at 11:27 a.m. Public police logs do not provide details.
An officer stood by at 9:45 a.m. as a stranded driver waited for someone to bring a tire to the Mine Road, near the runaway truck ramp.
At 10:04 a.m., the police received a complaint that drivers were ignoring flaggers, who were trying to get them to stop. The flagger was in Empire Pass.
An officer was dispatched to the 500 block of Main Street after an alarm was triggered. The police say it took a while for the alarm to be turned off but the officer found the building secure.
A loud party was reported at the Comstock Drive-Kearns Boulevard intersection at 12:54 a.m. Officers warned the revelers to stay inside. The police received a similar report, on the 2300 block of Comstock Drive, a little more than an hour before the second call.
On Tuesday, June 26 at 9:55 p.m., the police received a complaint that it appeared someone tried to start a fire in a garage on the 600 block of Main Street.
At 6:13 p.m., two bicyclists were reported in the skateboard park at City Park. They were gone when officers arrived.
An officer cited someone on a simple-assault count after the person reportedly shot a vehicle with water as it passed on the 500 block of Woodside Avenue at 12:18 p.m.
Three loose horses were seen on the 2600 block of Silver Cloud Drive at 7:26 a.m. An officer found where the animals belonged.
Graffiti was spotted twice on the 1700 block of Sidewinder Drive, once at 8:41 a.m. on June 26 and another time at 10:47 a.m. the day before.
A road-rage incident was reported at 8:38 a.m. on S.R. 248. The suspect vehicle headed west on the state highway, the police say.
On Monday, June 25 at 8:26 p.m., an officer found a baby inside a car on the 1700 block of Park Avenue. Nobody else was there but the parents returned. The officer warned them and the Police Department says the case will be forwarded to state officials.
A welder was reported stolen from a construction site on the 2800 block of Deer Valley Drive at 1:36 p.m.
Someone reported a television stolen on the 500 block of Ontario Avenue at 12:31 p.m. It was in a rental unit, the police were told.
Someone stole tile and grout mix from a construction site on the 1800 block of Three Kings Drive. The case was reported at 9:15 a.m.
Someone at 4:09 p.m. reported a license plate was stolen from a vehicle on Sidewinder Drive.
