Rocky Ricci Berriochoa

1983 2009

SALT LAKE CITY Our son, brother and friend, Rocky Ricci Berriochoa, 26, was taken from us unexpectedly on October 31, 2009.

Rocky was born on August 20, 1983, to Curt Berriochoa and Regie Oman. Growing up, he attended Kearns-Saint Ann School, Judge Memorial Catholic High School and graduated from Cottonwood High School in 2001. He had some of his best memories and made some of his best friends playing football at Cottonwood. During high school, he also played on the Highland rugby team.

Playing, watching and coaching football was always a part of Rocky’s life. One of Rocky’s dreams was to be a high school football coach and his passion was solidified while coaching the 2003 Cottonwood Juniors. Recently, he was a member of the BAMF flag football team and he loved being part of a team again.

Rocky was the world’s biggest Notre Dame football fan. He watched every game and followed their recruiting classes religiously. He was fortunate enough to have traveled to Notre Dame for a game in each of the last three seasons. This year, he finally got to see them win.

Rocky was employed by Chase Bank and enjoyed working with the people in Jeremy Ranch and Park City. Rocky loved camping, snowboarding, golfing, playing NCAA football, hanging out with friends and was recently learning the art of puppy training with his new dog, Sammy.

Rocky was a great friend and his vibrant smile and upbeat personality touched everyone he met.
