In stable condition but suffering from severe brain trauma from Tuesdays crash
As of Friday, Rudy Olscheuski, 70, of Salt Lake City, was in a stable condition but suffering from severe brain trauma as a result of Tuesday’s accident on Interstate 80 eastbound near Parleys Summit, according to Lieutenant Steve Winward with the Utah Highway Patrol.
Olscheuski was ejected from his pickup truck when it collided with an SUV around 4 p.m.
Another crash occurred on I-80 westbound only two miles away around the same time on Tuesday. No major injuries resulted from that accident.
Winward attributes the accidents to the severe rainstorm at the time and drivers going too fast for the conditions.
