Free film screenings
The Park City Film Series will present two free screenings as part of the Global Lens Series on Thursday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. "Shirley Adams" provides a deeply affecting portrait of a single mother struggling to care for her paraplegic son in present-day South Africa. "Gods" builds a biting satire on upper-crust wealth and privilege. The films are not rated. Park City Career Network
The Park City Career Network meets on Mondays, except holidays, at Temple Har Shalom at 9 a.m. The group’s theme is "The Brand Called You"; meetings focus on networking techniques to advance your career. Comedy troupe auditions
Jack in the Box Productions and the Egyptian Theatre Company are looking for people who have what it takes to create a house troupe of comedy improvisers to perform on Saturday nights. Positions are paid and rotating. Open auditions for improvisers of every skill level will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. in the Egyptian Theatre Studios, located in the lower level of the Main Street Mall. ARTSPARK classes Session II of ARTSPARK begins the week of Oct. 25 at each of the elementary schools in Park City and Ecker Hill Middle School. Sculpture, clay, drawing and painting will be explored in after-school classes for students in grades two through seven. Tuition is $120 for the six-week session and includes materials. Colleen Oshier, a certified Love and Logic facilitator, will host a three-week seminar on how to raise responsible, respectful children without raising your blood pressure. The series will focus on children up to age 11 and will be held at Creekside Kids Preschool, 1400 Bitner Road, on Wednesdays, Oct. 27 through Nov. 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $40 individual per individual or $60 per couple.
