Calling all Snowmamas

Park City Mountain Resort is searching for passionate, snow-loving parents to join Snowmamas.com, an online community where real parents provide tips, tricks and deals that make planning winter vacations fun and easy. Applications are being accepted at http://www.snowmamas.com and entries must be received by midnight on Oct. 15. Selected Snowmamas will be required to attend the Snowmamas Summit in December at Park City Mountain Resort (all expenses paid). Snowmamas will submit 10-14 blog posts, answer "Ask a Snowmama" questions and be strong Snowmama advocates. In return, members will receive an all-expense-paid family winter vacation to Park City Mountain Resort, season passes, special perks and a cash bonus. Halloween costume swap

Girl Scout Troop No. 2093 has been collecting new and gently used Halloween costumes and will host a costume giveaway on Saturday, Oct. 2, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Park City Community Church, 4501 N. State Road 224. All are welcome and people are encouraged to bring a costume to swap.

Dog obedience classes

Diamonds in the Ruff Dog Services is offering basic obedience classes starting Oct. 12. Classes will be held Tuesdays at 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. The sessions run for six weeks and are semi-private with a limit of seven dogs and their owners. Dogs must be at least four months old and have proof of current vaccinations or titer testing. The class will teach commands including sit, stay, down, leave it, come and heel with mild distractions. Christmas show auditions

Auditions for The Egyptian Theatre’s Christmas show, "The Rented Christmas," will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Egyptian Theatre Studios, located in the basement of the Main Street Mall. Paul Tan will direct this year’s heartwarming Christmas tale with musical direction by Tanya Taylor. Strong singers and actors of all ages are needed for the show. Rehearsals begin Nov. 1 and performances run Dec. 9-23. To set up an audition appointment, call 649-9371 or e-mail alex@parkcityshows.com. Sides will be provided and may be viewed prior to audition upon request. Those who audition should come prepared with a musical selection of their choice.
