Skier dies at PCMR
February 5, 2008
A Honolulu man died while skiing at Park City Mountain Resort Sunday, the Park City Police Department reports.
According to the police, a family member found Allan Chang at the bottom of Sitka, an intermediate-rated run off the resort’s King Con lift, at about 3:25 p.m. He did not respond to the family member, and the resort’s ski patrol and Park City Fire District paramedics tried to revive him, the police say.
He was 59 years old.
Paula Fabel, a PCMR spokeswoman, says Chang died from a medical condition, and he did not suffer traumatic injuries resembling those that are characteristic of a bad skiing accident. She says Chang’s brother-in-law found him lying in the snow and started CPR.
